Bio

Dr Ziad Jaradat is an Interventional Cardiologist who completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University and subsequently was appointed Chief Resident. He then completed his cardiovascular fellowship followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship prior to joining the faculty. Dr Jaradat is board certified in multiple areas including Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He is also certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine, which attests to expertise in vascular medicine, as an endovascular specialist. Dr Jaradat has a strong interest in education and is active in the training of future cardiologists in the areas of cardiac catheterization, particularly via the radial artery (arm) approach, and peripheral vascular interventions. He has a keen interest in caring for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). This includes treatment of atherosclerosis in the lower and upper extremities, and in the carotid and renal arteries, utilizing percutaneous (nonsurgical) procedures. He performs limb salvage procedures to restore blood flow to the feet in patients with advanced peripheral arterial disease. Such procedures facilitate wound healing in ulcers arising from poor blood supply and can obviate the need for amputation or surgery. Dr Jaradat also has an interest in venous disease including catheter-directed treatment of venous thrombosis (clots) in the lower extremities, upper extremities and pulmonary arteries. He performs procedures to treat venous insufficiency and varicose veins as well. He currently sees patients and performs procedures both at Indiana University Methodist Hospital (where he is the Director of Peripheral Vascular Interventions) and Indiana University West Hospital (where he is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory).
